MATCHING TIMBER MOULDINGS · PORTSMOUTH & HAMPSHIRE
Period details.
Made to match.
Replacing a damaged length of skirting or extending an existing room? We offer timber mouldings made to match existing profiles, helping new woodwork sit comfortably alongside the original details.
Our Portsmouth workshop has the machinery to produce bespoke mouldings. Send us a photograph or bring a sample by appointment so we can assess the profile and discuss your requirements.
KEEP THE CHARACTER
When off-the-shelf
doesn’t quite fit.
A replacement moulding can be the right height yet still look different beside the original. The curves, steps and proportions of the profile all contribute to its appearance.
We can assess an existing timber moulding and discuss making matching lengths for repairs, renovations or additions. Whether you need to continue a skirting run or replace an architrave, we start by looking at the detail you want to retain.
A physical sample is the most useful starting point. Photographs and dimensions help with an initial enquiry, but we may need to inspect a sample before confirming the profile, tooling and price.
A USEFUL STARTING POINT
Show us
the profile.
Use the enquiry form to describe the moulding and the quantity you need. We can then arrange for you to share photographs or bring a sample to the workshop.
- A clear photograph of the end profile and the moulding in place.
- The overall height and thickness, with a ruler in the photograph if possible.
- The total length required and any individual cut lengths.
- A spare sample, if available, and details of the timber or intended painted finish.
- Your location, timescale and whether you also need fitting.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
Common
questions.
Can you match a moulding that is no longer sold?
That is the aim of the service. We assess the profile and the timber before confirming what we can make. A sample helps us check the detail and any tooling needed.
Do I need a large quantity?
Tell us the quantity you need, including small repair jobs. Setting up or preparing tooling can affect the cost, so we quote after reviewing the profile and required length.
Will new timber look exactly like the old piece?
The profile can be assessed for matching, but timber colour, grain, ageing and existing coatings can affect the final appearance. We will discuss the intended finish as part of the job.
